Food Industry Skills currently in Demand and How to Get Them

In the past 6 months there are two main qualifications that seem to be sought after within the Trades I recruit. Boiler tickets for Maintenance Fitters within the food industry and Maintenance Electricians for food industry roles within Sydney.

Often the difference between securing a role and being unsuccessful can be something as small as not having the correct licence, despite relevant industry experience.

As the food industry continues to grow it is worth taking up any training opportunities with existing employers around boiler maintenance and operation. If you work as a contractor and visit a variety of different clients make sure you take advantage of any exposure you can access across the food and pharmaceutical industries as these will set in good stead for future long term opportunities within FMCG. RPR Trades are members of the TSBE and working with clients in the Toowoomba Hub which is well known as the number one agriculture region in the country. The TSBE have some great articles on the growth in this region.

I can also recommend Outsource Institute of Technology who specialise in the training and assessment of nationally accredited and non-accredited business and engineering programs ranging from Certificate II, III and IV to Advanced Diploma.
