After reading the latest article on the Infrastructure Australia website, I was interested to read the ideas put forward.
As the NSW Regional Manager for RPR Trades, I see so many opportunities in the market to drive the growth in Australia’s productivity. As a specialist labour hire agency I see the struggles to find qualified trades employees even leading brands are having. Everyone wants to make a difference or even be a part of history in the making.
We can all put a plan in place, be strategic thinkers and go to tender, but how well are we utilising our infrastructure networks? We know there are jobs out there but are there enough qualified trades employees to meet those opportunities facing Australian infrastructure? And if not, what are we doing about it?
Australia is set to benefit from significant population growth over the next 15 years. The Australian Infrastructure Audit projected that by 2031, Australia’s population would grow to more than 30 million people. Planning must remain a priority so governments can better prepare for shifts in demand, identify emerging issues and construct the right projects at the right time, for the right price and people. There must also be planning around our workforces to ensure there is a plan in place for trades shortfalls we all see in the future.
I’m always networking and enjoy meeting new people along the way, learning about the new technologies ahead, speaking to engineers who are passionate about the endless possibilities and looking at new ideas.
If you are a trade qualified person or know someone that is please make contact as I have opportunities that may be of interest or visit our website on www.rprtrades.com.
If they’re not looking, that’s ok too, let’s all expand our networks.
