Brighter days await workers across Australia as RPR Trades welcomes another Financial Year. New rates have been finalised and applied for employees who are paid the Modern Award rates. The Fair Work Commission returned a 3.5% wage increase across all, which was effective 2nd of July 2018. This is good news for 22.7% of the working population who are paid in line with the Modern Awards.
The Fair Work Commission is responsible in making sure that minimum wages are reviewed annually to determine any changes or increase of minimum wages for Modern Awards. One of the objectives of this year’s increase is to make sure that the pay is relative to the living standards based on the national economy. Having the increase shows that the country’s current economy is growing, which means more career opportunities opening up for everyone.
As part of the ‘End of Financial Year Clean Up’, Payment Summaries have been sent out to all On-Hire Employees who worked for RPR Trades in the FY July 2017 – June 2018. Employees are advised to check their email to make sure they have received their Payment Summary. Those who missed receiving their Payment Summary should email email@example.com with the correct email address and request a new one which will be provided within 14 days. Also, don’t forget to be mindful of Tax Deadlines! Tax Returns is due by 31st of October and everyone is encouraged to lodge their tax returns by then.
